Senior Superstars - HEAT 1

Arana Leagues Club hosted HEAT 1 of the Brisbane City Councils Senior Superstar competition on Sunday 13th June in the Kev McKell lounge.

Was a great event. Three finalists from Eastern Suburbs were Barbara Tyrrell, Barry Ellem and Chilan Wong Anderson.

Biggest Morning Tea!

Morning Melodies was on fire on Wednesday 26th May when the Arana Leagues Club hosted a fundraising event for the Cancer Council.

Thanks to all those that participated. We raised over $660!

World's Greatest Shave!

On Thursday 11th March Arana Leagues Club hosted a public 'Be Brave & Shave'
for the Leukaemia Foundation! 

It was a great turnout with three brave soles (including an Arana Leagues Staff
member) shaving for this worthy cause and over twenty people getting their hair coloured.

Delivering Christmas Cheer!

Christmas is a time of giving, an ethos taken very seriously by staff at the Arana Leagues Club. For the past five years, employees have chosen to support the K-Mart Wishing Tree at the Arana Hills K-Mart Shopping Plaza, rather than participate in an internal 'Secret Santa' pool.

"The K-Mart Wishing Tree was selected by staff as the alternative to Secret Santas, an activity which was becoming increasingly disappointing," states Arana Staff Representative Committee President Gay Elmes. To read more click here.

On the job training

Arana Leagues Club has once again recruited twenty year 12 students from the Ferny Grove High School for the clubs Certificate 3 in Hospitality - School Based Traineeship Program.

The new group of students commenced their induction in September 2009 and can be identified by their 'red shirts'. Many have worked over the Christmas period and have gained valuable experience in bar, customer service, reception, function and cellar areas of the club.
